Overview

The 8th First Year Engineering Experience Conference, hosted by the Department of Engineering Education at The Ohio State University, will continue the dialog started at the University of Notre Dame in 2005, 2007, and 2009, University of Pittsburgh in 2012 and 2013, Texas A&M in 2014, and Virginia Tech in 2015.

Conference Structure

The goal of the First Year Engineering Experience conference is to facilitate learning and sharing among attendees. The conference will take place in Columbus, OH on The Ohio State University campus. Conference sessions will include a variety of opportunities to share and learn. The conference schedule will consist of workshops, panel discussions, paper presentations, poster presentations, and keynote addresses.

The conference officially starts Sunday evening with an optional reception and registration at the hotel. Monday and Tuesday will be two days of workshops, panels, presentations, and keynotes. Monday evening will include a reception with food.

New for 2016

Because many previous attendees noted their desire for a slightly longer conference and attendees noted the popularity of workshops, this year there may be additional workshops offered on Sunday afternoon for interested attendees. These workshops may be the same as those offered during the Monday/Tuesday conference or they may be different workshops. More information will be provided once the schedule at a glance is finalized.
